9th to 11th May 2008 - A fine trip across the highest ground on the western side of the Lairig Ghru and above An Garbh Coire, the snowiest place in the British Isles
The Route
9th May
Aviemore - Chalamain Gap - Lairig Ghru (camp, close to the site of the old Sinclair Memorial Hut)
Note: difficult to find a reasonable camping spot. The ground is very uneven and covered in rocks and heather in the northern side of the Lairig Ghru.
The weather was warm and muggy. Some light rain whilst walking through the Chalamain Gap.
