- They are recorded in Dartington, South Devon on a gentle north facing slope. Dartington is 1.5 miles from Totnes and about 7 miles from Torquay in a region known as the South Hams.
- The altitude of the site is approximately 35m (115ft) above mean sea level.
- Instrumentation is sited at the correct height apart from the anemometer which is location much too low down. The site is reasonably sheltered, particularly from the south and south west. The site has a very heavy clay soil which is slow to warm up in the Spring time.
- Even though Dartington is located in one of the mildest parts of the UK, it does experience some cool temperatures under radiation (no wind, clear sky) conditions.
I have weather observations dating back to December 2005. I'll gradually make them available on this site over the coming months.
